Guy Windsor.  It’s fascinating, a year ago he seemed far away, almost a celebrity in my mind.  He is I suppose, if to a niche fan base, as one of the foremost authorities on historical fencing.  We were introduced through a mutual friend much to my pleasure.

He owns the original Fabris manuscript, which I am in the process of retranslating.

After he had seen my artwork, he commissioned from me to do an illuminated version of his logo concept.  A snake with three sets of wings, like a renaissance seraphim, wrapped around a sword.

The blade is gilded in white gold, and the ground was build up so that the sword and especially the hilt would have dimensionality.  Then the ground  was grooved to emulate the fuller.
